Australian Open; Joko flew, 26th in a row, equal to Agassi’s record Sports | Deshabhimani

Melbourne
Serbia’s Novak Djokovic jumps to a 10th Australian Open tennis crown. The thirty-five-year-old’s progress was broken by fifth seed Andrei Rublev in straight sets (6–1, 6–2, 6–4). Joko’s semi-final opponent is American Tommy Paul, and this was Djokovic’s 26th consecutive win at Melbourne Park. He joined the record of former American star Andre Agassi.

Djokovic, who was kicked out last year because he did not receive the Covid vaccine, made a stunning comeback in Melbourne. He pulled a muscle during the second round but did not tire. Karen Kachanov and Stefanos Tsitsipas will meet in another semi-final tomorrow.

Tommy Paul reached the semi-finals after beating American Ben Shelton in four sets (6–7, 6–3, 7–5, 6–4).
Among women, Arina Sabalenka and Magda Linet entered the semi-finals. Today is the semi-final between the two. Elena Rybakina and Victoria Azarenka will meet in the other semi-final.
