The body was recovered around 11 pm on Thursday (August 10) from the Henjur Mor area of Killarhat Road in East Rajarampur of Kadir Hanif Union.

Locals said that around 11:00 p.m., the police were informed after seeing the dead body of a teenager floating in an abandoned boat on the side of the road. Later, passers-by identified the body as that of Riaz, an auto-rickshaw driver.
The police recovered the body and sent it to the 250-bed Noakhali General Hospital for post-mortem. However, the police have not yet arrested anyone involved in the rescue of his autorickshaw or the murder.
