Riyadh: Yemeni rebel militant group Houthis have launched a missile attack on Saudi Arabia. This time the attack was carried out with long-range ballistic missiles. Five ballistic missiles hit the town of Jizan, near the southern border, on Thursday morning.

But the Saudi-led Arab coalition destroyed the missiles before they hit the target. The Houthi attack targeted populated areas in the town of Jizan. But they were able to destroy them directly before reaching their destinations, thus avoiding major damage.

A missile attack targeting Abha airport in western Saudi Arabia has also been reported in the past day. This too was defeated by the Allies. The missile strike targeted Najran in southern Saudi Arabia. Saudi officials have accused the Houthis of carrying out drone and missile attacks on Saudi Arabia every day. The country has warned that attacks on civilians in Saudi Arabia could amount to war crimes.
