Ballon d’Or 2021: Goat Messi wins Ballon d’Or; Alexia wins Ballon d’Or

Paris: Lionel Messi shines a rainbow in the sky of football again. Messi made history by winning the Ballon d’Or for the seventh time. Messi, Argentina’s and PSG star, won the prestigious award at a ceremony in Paris this morning. Earlier, Messi had won the Ballon d’Or in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2015 and 2019. The 2021 Ballon d’Or was announced at the last minute. Although he did not claim to be a major player in Barcelona or PSG, Messi did not fail to find the back of the net. Messi, who scored 30 goals for Barcelona last season, was content with the Copa del Rey title. But it was this year that Messi won his first international title in the Argentine jersey, the Copa America.

Lewandowski, who is scoring for Bayern Munich, finished second after a last-minute struggle with Messi. With the strength of the Euro Cup and the Champions League in place, Georgino has posed a formidable challenge to both. Cristiano Ronaldo was only able to finish sixth this time. Jorge Gino, Karim Benzema and Ngolo Cante finished third, fourth and fifth respectively.

Meanwhile, Barcelona’s Spaniard Pedri has won the Copa del Rey for best young man. Nineteen – year – old Pedri performed brilliantly. Barcelona’s Alexia Putellos won the Best Female Player award. Midfielder Alexia scored 26 goals last season. This includes a goal against Chelsea in the Champions League final.

Gianluigi Donorma, PSG’s Italian guard, won the Lev Yashin Trophy for the best goalkeeper in the men’s division. Italy’s winner of the Euro Cup, beating Chelsea’s Eduardo Mendy to win the Donaruma award. The player arrived at PSG from AC Milan this season. The Club of the Year award went to Chelsea, who won the Champions League and the Women’s Super League. Legendary Didier Drogba and journalist Sandy Herbert were present at the awards ceremony.
