A 50-year-old man in his 50s who rushed into the police with a weapon was arrested after being hit by live bullets from the police.

The Gimhae Police Station announced today (1st) that they had arrested a man in his 50s on charges of obstructing the execution of special duties.

According to the police, A broke into a factory located in Deogam-ri, Juchon-myeon, Gimhae-si, Gyeongsangnam-do around 4:51 a.m. that day. A factory worker who witnessed this on CCTV reported it to the police.

Police arrived at the scene and interrogated Mr. Then A suddenly pulled out a weapon and wielded it. At the time, Mr. A had 3 swords made by a priest 30 to 70 cm long.

The police fired a taser to subdue Mr. A, but it was ineffective due to the thick outerwear.

After removing the iron core of the taser with a weapon, A broke the factory office window and went inside. When the police followed and warned of arrest, Mr. A ran into the police with a weapon.

The police, feeling threatened, fired one blank bullet and then three live bullets. One live bullet pierced the right thigh of Mr. A, and two bullets were struck.

Even after being shot down, A resisted the police by swinging a weapon. The police arrested Mr. A and transported him to a hospital for treatment of his injuries. It is known to be life-threatening.

Mr. A stated that he broke in because he had money to receive from a factory official. The police are investigating the exact circumstances of the incident, believing that Mr. A broke into the factory with resentment for not getting his money back.
