Bayern Munich beat Barca by three goals in Group C. Barca surrendered without even a fight in their home ground. Sadio Mane, Eric Maxime Motting and Benjamin Pavard were on the right track for Bayern. Bayern managed to break even with Barça in their first encounter in the group. With this, Barça was out of the tournament with only four points from five games. Bayern entered the stage having won all five.
In the other group game, Inter Milan defeated a weak Viktoria Plzen 4-0. Edin Dzeko scored twice, while Hentyk Mkhitaryan and Romelu Lukaku were also on target. Inter entered the pre-quarters with this win. The team has 10 points from five games.
In Group A, Ajax were crushed by Liverpool with three uncontested goals. Superstar Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunes and Harvey Elliott were on the right track for Liverpool. With this win, Liverpool entered the pre-quarters with 12 points, including four wins from five games. Ajax is out.
In the group’s other game, Napoli also confirmed the preliminaries by defeating Rangers by three uncontested goals. Giovanni Simeone scored twice, while Leo Skerry Ostigård was also on target. English giants Tottenham were tied by Sporting Lisbon. In Group D, both teams scored one goal each. Sport took the lead through Marks Edwards. Tottenham equalized through Rodrigo Bentanker. Tottenham’s chances ahead of the quarter remain unclear. Tottenham are currently in first place in Group D. The team has eight points from five games. Sport is second with seven points.
Elsewhere, Bayern Leverkusen held Atletico Madrid to a 2-2 draw while Eintracht Frankfurt beat Marseille 2-1.
