Barcelona Real – The Catalans won their third consecutive El Clasico and extended their lead in La Liga

In the 26th round of the championship of Spain, another El Clasico took place – Barcelona host Real Madrid.

The match ended in a 2-1 victory for the Catalans.

“Real” managed to score a curious goal in the ninth minute: Vinicius tried to shoot, and Araujo cut the ball into his own net. Just before the break, Barça took the lead when Roberto played well on the rebound and sent the ball into the near corner of the goal.

In the second half, the home team created a few more scoring chances, but Courtois rescued Madrid. In the 81st minute, Real Madrid managed to level the score – Asensio sent the ball into the goal with a touch on the ball. However, the referee after watching the replay fixed offside.

The fate of three points was decided by the episode in stoppage time. Lewandowski backed a ball to Bald, who flanked the free-kick and Kessie fired a one-timer to give Barcelona the win.

This victory allowed Barcelona to increase their lead over Real Madrid to 12 points in the La Liga standings. For the Catalans, this is the 100th victory over Madrid in the history of confrontation between the teams. Moreover, Barça, under the leadership of Xavi, won the third El Clasico in a row.
