BCAs to bring job opportunities closer to students

The launch of this system of information and orientation of students in terms of professional integration or employment opportunities is the concretization of a commitment made by the Head of State on January 17 to students at Joseph Ki-Zerbo University in Ouagadougou.

« The ”Skills assessment and support” offices in Higher Education and Research Institutions constitute an operational solution aimed at supporting students in the construction and realization of their professional or employment projects. “, supported the Minister of Youth, Sports and Employment, Boubacar SAVADOGO, who read the speech of the Head of State for the launch.

The various BCAs which will be piloted by the services of the National Agency for the Promotion of Employment (ANPE) will provide local assistance to young people in a university environment with a view to directing them towards opportunities for professional integration or job.

The BCAs must therefore, among other things, inform students about the opportunities, characteristics and requirements of the labor market, assist them in carrying out their skills assessment, in defining their professional or employment projects, in the construction of their professional future.

The governor of the Eastern region, Colonel Hubert YAMEOGO welcomed the implementation ” a salutary response to the issue of youth employment ».

The Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, Pr Adjima THIOMBIANO invited the university authorities to support this initiative which will contribute to improving the performance of the education system. He urged students to seize this opportunity to improve their employability and facilitate their integration into the job market.

According to the Minister in charge of employment, the first phase of the deployment of the BCA Offices concerns fourteen (14) public Higher Education and Research Institutions (IESR). It will be gradually extended to other public and private higher education and research institutions by 2025.
