Abu Dhabi: Licensing of NGOs has begun. This is to give organizations the opportunity to work in the field of social service legally. It will help and monitor the activities of NGOs working in the socio-cultural sphere. NGOs will be enabled to provide maximum services within the legal framework of the UAE. The Department of Community Development said it had already received a number of applications.
Assoc. Undersecretary Hessa Tahlak said. Priority will be given to providing services that ensure family and community unity and happiness. An application signed by all the founding members is required to obtain a license.
The rules of the organization signed by the members, the minutes copy of the meetings signed by the participants, the activities carried out, the names of the founding members, status, occupation, place of residence, identity card and copies of the passport should be submitted to the department along with the monthly report.
