Beijing Corona-infected areas increase to 15 districts … Expand work from home

As the spread of COVID-19 continues in Beijing, China, the number of infected areas has increased to 15 out of 17 districts.

According to the Chinese health authorities, the number of new infections in Beijing was counted as 50 as of the 4th, and the cumulative number of infections has increased to 544 since the 22nd of last month, when the mass infection began in earnest.

As a result, the city of Beijing closed 62 stations, or 13% of all subway stations, and required passengers arriving in Beijing by train to present a PCR test negative certificate within 48 hours.

Beijing’s Chaoyang District has required all residents to work from home starting today (5th), the first day of work after the Labor Day holiday, and Tongzhou District also recommended working from home.

Beijing municipal authorities announced that they will further expand telecommuting starting tomorrow (6th).

The target of expanding telecommuting is party-government organizations, state-owned enterprises, and large corporations, where less than 50% of all employees are allowed to work.
