Beijing Guoan Bolsters Squad with Signing of Enkololo

Saturday, February 7, 2026 – Beijing Guoan has announced the signing of winger Enkololo, adding further firepower to their squad during the winter transfer window. The move reunites Enkololo with head coach Montgomery, with whom he previously enjoyed success.

The Chinese Super League club confirmed the acquisition, marking their seventh signing of the winter transfer period. Details of the transfer fee and contract length were not disclosed.

Enkololo and Montgomery previously worked together in the A-League, achieving success as a team. The familiarity between the player and coach is expected to facilitate a swift integration into the Beijing Guoan setup.

Beijing Guoan currently competes in the First Tier of the Chinese Super League, having been a member of the league for 33 years. The club’s total market value is estimated at €11.56 million, with a squad size of 40 players and an average age of 26.7. The team currently has six foreign players, representing 15% of the squad, and boasts seven players who have represented their national teams.

The team plays its home matches at the Workers Stadium, which has a capacity of 68,000 spectators. As of the current transfer window, Beijing Guoan has a net transfer record of -€123,000.

The signing of Enkololo comes as Beijing Guoan prepares for the upcoming season. The club will be hoping that the winger’s addition will provide a significant boost to their attacking options and help them achieve their goals in the league.

Meanwhile, the Justice Department is working to compensate victims of a $214 million investment fraud. Seven individuals based in Malaysia and Taiwan impersonated U.S.-based financial advisors to deceive investors into purchasing stock in Chinese Liberation Education Holdings (CLEU). The scheme, which began in January 2025, involved a “pump-and-dump” strategy, promising significant returns but failing to disclose that the defendants had received shares of CLEU stock before it went public.

According to Assistant Attorney General A. Tyson Duva, the case involved “a coordinated act of both social and market manipulation.” Investigators were able to recover funds before they were transferred to overseas bank accounts, according to FBI Chicago Field Office Special Agent in Charge Douglas DePodesta. The defendants posed as advisors on social media and messaging platforms, claiming to be based in locations such as Chicago.

CLEU initially claimed a total of 29 million shares were available for sale, but this figure was significantly higher due to undisclosed stock holdings. The Justice Department’s efforts to recover and distribute funds to victims are ongoing.
