Ding Jianming, deputy director of the Beijing Major Projects Office, stated that since Beijing issued the “Start Order” for the construction of the Winter Olympics on March 31, 2017, tens of thousands of Winter Olympics builders have followed the principle of “I can’t afford to miss it in a day” request to devote himself to work. At present, the 8 competition venues and 16 non-competition venues in the Beijing Winter Olympics Beijing and Yanqing Competitions, which are under the responsibility of Beijing, have been delivered to the Beijing Winter Olympics Organizing Committee, and 31 supporting infrastructures have all been put into use.
Ding Jianming introduced that as the preparations for the Beijing Winter Olympics have entered the final sprint period, the construction of temporary facilities has been fully launched in the Beijing and Yanqing competition areas in accordance with the needs of the competition. The temporary facilities mainly include the spectator watching system, the athlete service system, and the functional rooms for television broadcasting, epidemic prevention, logistics, etc., which will be fully completed within this year.
