The family of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries official who was killed in a shooting by the North Korean military in the West Sea has filed a criminal complaint with the prosecution against Seo Hoon, then former National Security Office chief, Kim Jong-ho, former Blue House chief of civil affairs, and Lee Kwang-cheol, former civil affairs secretary.

The charges filed by the bereaved family include obstruction of the execution of official duties, abuse of power, and creation of false public documents.

Lee Rae-jin, the older brother of the murdered public official, held a press conference in front of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office today (22nd) and filed a complaint saying, “As the highest-ranking public officials, I have illegally used the position and authority that made me faithfully fulfill the duty to protect the lives and safety of the people.” has been submitted.

Lee urged the prosecution to investigate promptly, claiming that “the second inflicted harm on a public official who fell and drifted in North Korean waters while carrying out his normal duties.”

Regarding former Chief of Staff Suh Hoon, “The Ministry of National Defense distributed a press release saying that it received instructions from the Blue House National Security Office on September 27, 2020. We are filing a complaint to find out,” he said.

Also, regarding Kim Jong-ho, former chief of civil affairs and former civil affairs secretary, Lee Kwang-cheol, he argued, “Isn’t there a ‘guideline’ from the Blue House as the background for announcing an interim investigation that the Coast Guard voluntarily defected to North Korea?”

The family of the bereaved family opposed the possibility that the Airborne Service would investigate the accused, saying, “The investigative ability is insufficient and additional secondary harm to the bereaved family is expected.”

He also went to Woo Sang-ho, chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea, and requested the release of the presidential records, and urged the Commissioner of the Coast Guard to take disciplinary action against the person in charge of the investigation at the time.
