Beyoncé with a historic Grammy record. Big surprises

Pop icon Beyoncé set a record at the Grammys. After 88 career nominations, the R&B singer and pop star won her 32nd gramophone. It was for Best Dance/Electronic Album. This is how she became the singer with the most Grammy awards. Solti, a Hungarian-born conductor who was the previous leader, won his last award in 1998.

Beyoncé’s fourth win of the night — after picking up best R&B song for “Cuff It” and two awards at the pre-show ceremony — came in a category that showcased the breadth of her two-year career.

“Renaissance”, her tribute to black and queer dance music, performed by Bonobo, Diplo, Odesza and Rüfüs du Sol. Earlier, her #1 single “Break My Soul” won in the Best Dance/Electronic Recording category, and “Plastic Off the Sofa” from the same genre album won Best Traditional R&B Performance.

Harry Styles won the prestigious Grammy Award for Album of the Year. It was a surprise victory over the big favorites Beyoncé and Adele.

The pop sensation won the award for his third album ‘Harry’s House’ – the musician’s most lyrical to date, which combines raspy synths and soft acoustics with very personal lyrics.

“It doesn’t happen often to people like me, but it’s so nice,” he said from the stage.

The American blues, folk and country singer Bonnie Raitt unexpectedly won the “Grammy” for song of the year – the award is for her song “Just Like That”.

The critically acclaimed singer, 73, beat out pop stars such as Beyoncé, Adele and Taylor Swift to pick up the songwriting award.

“I’m so surprised,” Reith said upon accepting the award after taking the stage.

Lizo received the Grammy for Record of the Year – the award for overall performance of a song – for her single “About Damn Time”.

Winning the award is something of a comeback for Lizo, who was tipped as the big winner in 2020 but lost her big prize chances to pop phenomenon Billie Eilish.
