Birth rates throughout China have dropped dramatically already

Birth rates in China are at an all-time low. Birth rates throughout the world have dropped dramatically already, according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics. According to the report, the birth rate in 2021 will be 7.52 per 1000 live births. This is the lowest birth rate since 1949.

In 2016, China announced a one-for-one policy. The Chinese government later suggested that the couple could have up to two children after the policy was repealed. The birth rate in 2020 was 8.52 per 1,000 live births. Experts say that many people do not want to have children because of the high cost of city life.

“We are well aware of the demographic challenge, but the pace of population aging is faster than expected,” said Shivei Zhang, chief economist at Pinpoint Asset Management.
