Bithumb, the second cryptocurrency exchange to report as a business operator

Bithumb is the second cryptocurrency exchange to register as a business operator after Upbit.

The Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) of the Financial Services Commission announced on the 9th that Bithumb Korea, the operator of Bithumb, applied for a business report in accordance with the Specific Financial Transaction Information Act (Special Provisions Act).

Bithumb said, “We will actively cooperate in accordance with the regulations and procedures given for a smooth review by the financial authorities.”

Bithumb decided to extend the contract with NH Nonghyup Bank to issue a real-name deposit and withdrawal account (real-name account) the day before.

Coinone, which extended the contract for issuing real-name accounts from Nonghyup Bank along with Bithumb, and Korbit, which received a real-name account confirmation from Shinhan Bank, are also expected to file a business report soon.

Upbit completed the business registration on the 20th of last month before them.
