Black Bear Spotted in Disney World, Causing Temporary Closure of Rides
In an unexpected turn of events, Disney World, the renowned American amusement park, was briefly disrupted when a black bear made its presence known.
According to the Wall Street Journal (WSJ), a female black bear was sighted in the Magic Kingdom Park area of Disney World in Florida on the same day.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission (FWC) swiftly responded to the report and successfully captured the black bear near a tree in the Magic Kingdom Park around 2:45 pm.
As a precautionary measure, Disney World decided to temporarily close 12 rides in the affected area, ensuring the safety of its visitors. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the bear’s capture.
The captured black bear is expected to be relocated to the Ocala National Forest in Florida or its surrounding areas, as informed by FWC officials.
FWC highlighted that during the autumn months, bears tend to become more active as they search for food to store fat for the upcoming winter. It is highly probable that this particular bear wandered into the area in search of sustenance.
