Blincoln: “Written response to Russia… Presenting a serious diplomatic path.”

U.S. Secretary of State Tony Blincoln said he had responded to the so-called “security guarantee” to Russia.

According to AFP and CNN, Secretary Blincoln said in a conference on the 26th (local time) that US Ambassador to Russia John Sullivan delivered a written response on the security guarantee on the same day.

Blincoln met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov last week in Geneva, Switzerland, and agreed to give Russia a written response this week on the security guarantee.

State Department spokeswoman Ned Price said at a State Department briefing the day before that it had been closely consulting with allies and partners, including Ukraine, regarding a written response.

Secretary Blincoln praised the response, saying, “It presents a serious diplomatic path.” At the same time, he stressed the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and the right to choose alliances.

Blincoln also explained that the response included “the concern of the United States and its allies and partners over Russia’s actions.”
