Blizzard Entertainment announced that on June 3rd, the new mobile game ‘Diablo Immortal’ will be released in most regions around the world, including Korea. Some Asia Pacific regions will launch in a few weeks.
‘Diablo Immortal’ is the first Blizzard game designed for mobile from the beginning. Inheriting Blizzard’s masterpiece ‘Diablo’ series, it contains the story between ‘Diablo 2’ and ‘Diablo 3’. A PC version is also provided to support cross-play with mobile devices. Blizzard is planning to conduct a PC open beta along with the release of the mobile version.
Mike Ibara, President of Blizzard Entertainment, said, “In ‘Diablo Immortal,’ the most extensive Diablo game that Blizzard has released, you will soon be able to defeat the demons of Burning Hell. It is important to provide a work that lives up to its reputation, so it went through numerous tests and reflected various feedbacks, and I am happy to finally show the results to players.”
‘Diablo Immortal’ provides 6 classes such as barbarian, crusader, demon hunter, monk, necromancer, and wizard, and 8 distinctive regions, metropolitan western expedition. Familiar NPCs, including Deckard Kane, as well as new characters appear. In addition, content such as the boss of the Hell Relics raid with up to 8 players and a clan that can join up to 150 people has been prepared.
A faction-based battle (PvP) system has also been introduced, allowing users to join forces and participate in battles in the yoke of struggle. The top-level server will acquire the Crown of Eternity and become the leader of the Immortal Corps, and can constantly fight against the opposing faction through various modes, including 1v30 battles.
‘Diablo Immortal’ is provided as a partially paid version and was jointly developed by Blizzard Entertainment and NetEase. It will be released on iOS, Android, and Windows PC (Battle.net) platforms. The number of pre-registrations exceeded 30 million.
