Bordeaux’s Hwang Ui-Jo records first hat-trick in French Ligue

Bordeaux’s Hwang Ui-jo scored a hat-trick for the first time since entering the French league, setting the record for the most goals scored by an Asian player in the league.

Hwang Ui-Jo scored 3 goals in a home match against Strasbourg in the 22nd round of French professional football league, leading the team to a 4-3 victory.

Hwang Ui-jo, who had been silent for 42 days in the league, scored his 7th, 8th and 9th goals in a row in one match.

Hwang Ui-jo scored 27 goals in his personal career in Ligue 1, and broke the record for most goals held by Park Joo-young in the league by two goals.

Bordeaux got out of the league’s 3rd consecutive win thanks to Hwang’s performance.
