Bought a spoon for 90 paise; Sold at auction for 2 lakhs!

A spoon bought by a London native for 90 paise was sold at auction for Rs 2 lakh. The luck was brought in by the spoon inside the kitchen utensils bought from the antiques vendors on London Street. I bought a set of spoons for 90 paise. But when he went home and checked, he found that one of the group was in a state of disrepair. This is a very old spoon. So he approached Lawrence Auctions, an auction house in Somerset.

After examining the spoon in detail, he was shocked to hear what the auction house had to say. It was a spoon made of silver in the thirteenth century. The spoon was priced at Rs 51,712. The rare spoon, which was centuries old, was in greater demand than expected. The spoon eventually sold for Rs 1,97,000.
