Scrambling to secure the right to challenge for the title game with the big four organizations
(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Lee Dae-ho = WBC Women’s International Flyweight Shin Bo-mi-re (29, Shin-gil Boxing Gym) is challenging for the first unified world title in Korean professional boxing history.
The Korea Boxing Association (KBA) announced that Shin Bomire will face Delfain Persson (Belgium) in Belgium on May 28 (local time).
Shin Bomire won the WBC women’s super featherweight title match against Iranda Paola Torres (Mexico) held in San Antonio, Texas last May to become the champion.
In September last year, he defeated Aka Lingo (Japan) and succeeded in the first defense, and in February this year, he beat Diana Rodriguez (Venezuela) and finished the second defense.
Shin Bo Mi-re’s professional record is 15 wins (8 KO), 3 draws and 1 loss.
Shin Bomi-re drew attention by appearing in ‘Physical 100’ released by Netflix earlier this year and having a fierce fight with Korean boxing legend Choi Hyeon-mi (33).
Persson, who faces Shin Bomi-re, is a former player with a career record of 47 wins and 3 losses.
Of course, he is a world champion, and he is a strong player who has won two unified title fights.
If Shin Bo Mi-re wins this match, he will have the opportunity to challenge the unified champion of the four major organizations (WBC, WBA, WBO, IBF) for the first time in the history of Korean boxing.
The current champion of the four major organizations is Alicia Baumgardner (29, USA).
Former boxing champion Ryu Myeong-woo of Buffalo Promotion, Shinbo Mire’s promotion agency, confidently said, “It will be a huge slugfest in terms of the two fighters’ styles. With this match, everyone will know the name Shinbo Mire in the boxing market world.”
