In Brazil, a video has been released showing residents digging through dumped groceries as they get stuck on garbage trucks.
According to local media, a picture of five men and women rummaging through a garbage truck in front of a supermarket in a wealthy neighborhood in Ceara, northeastern Brazil, has been uploaded on social media.
The person who filmed the video said, “It’s a very sad scene that can be easily seen here.”
It is estimated that 19 million people are unable to afford one meal a day while the number of people living in poverty in Brazil is rapidly increasing due to soaring prices and rising unemployment.
