In Italy, thieves broke the door of a post office with a digger and stole an ATM.

CCTV footage circulated on social media at the time shows an excavator breaking down the door of the building with a loud noise. An ATM machine was then removed from the building with an excavator and loaded into the white van that the crew was driving. After that, the gang disappeared while riding in the vehicle and another prepared vehicle. The whole process only took about 2 minutes.

Local police believe the ATM machine they took contained around 20,000 euros (around 28 million won) in cash. In addition, according to the investigation, it was confirmed that the digger and the van used in the crime had also been reported stolen.

The thieves have not yet been identified and no arrests have been made. Police are carrying out an investigation focusing on the ex-offenders, believing they may have a criminal record for robbery in the sense that they committed a crime using a digger. The post office resumed operations three days after the incident.

Meanwhile, this is not the first time that a theft crime using an excavator or mining machine has occurred in the area. According to reports, in August last year, a gang of thieves tried to rob a bank by digging a tunnel using an excavator. However, the ground had weakened due to the rain at the time, and as it collapsed, the crew were caught in a tunnel they had dug themselves and were rescued.
