Breaking news[2021 new watch]Rolex releases new work! First Lefty !? Introducing a new green two-tone bezel for the GMT Master II!

Due to the influence of the coronavirus, “Watches & Wonders Geneva” (Watch & Wonders Geneva) is a place to announce new luxury watches held in Geneva, Switzerland, which started online in April 2020. Held from March 30th today. It will be held for 6 days until April 5th.

With the addition of the Richemont Group, which includes Cartier and Vacheron Constantin, Rolex and Chanel, and Grand Seiko from Japan, there are more than 20 brands.

Rolex participated in 2021. As a matter of fact, last year it was a sudden new release on the official website at midnight (7 am Japan time) on the day of the online event, so I was waiting from the morning this time as well, but this year it is the release time of each company. Seems to have been unified at 8:30 am, and Rolex also released it on the official website at 15:30 Japan time.

So, as a breaking news, I will briefly introduce what kind of new work was announced.

If I dare to mention the highlight of this new work, would it be the GMT Master II? The difference from the existing model is that the two-tone bezel has the first green and the crown is on the left side instead of the right side. Moreover, what impresses me is that the date display has also moved to the left accordingly. I think that the regular line and left-handed specifications are probably the first for the company if the memory is certain.

In addition, Rolex’s corporate color, the green two-tone bezel, has a very timely color scheme. Green has become more popular as a trend color for luxury watches since two years ago, and it is much tighter and more stylish than the all-green bezel Submariner Date because it is two-tone with black. It is inevitable that it will become the most popular.

Air King, which was regarded as the most prominent model change (or discontinued) among enthusiasts, was remodeled as expected.
Introduced in 2016 as a model dedicated to sky explorers, this model change has brought out a clearer appearance for professional use, such as a new crown guard and a straight case side. rice field.
In addition, the dial design, which was inspired by the instruments of the aircraft, has been slightly modified. The two-digit display with a “0” added in front of the “5” on the Minute Scale has improved visibility and visual balance. The old model was equipped with the same anti-magnetic caliber 3131 as the Milgauss. However, this time, it was switched to the existing caliber 3230 installed in the Submariner.
By the way, Milgauss, which was a candidate for a model change like Air King, has not moved in particular this time and is still in the catalog on the official HP.

The new 2022 model announced by Day-Date is the first 950 platinum Oyster Perpetual Day-Date 40 with an ice-blue dial and a fluted bezel.

This distinctive bezel is the cornerstone of Rolex’s traditional design and is only found on some classic models in the Oyster Perpetual collection. Until now, the fluted bezel was only made of gold, but this time, the fluted bezel has been added to the platinum model, which is the metal with the highest prestige (the polished bezel is lined up as an existing model).

Platinum was a particularly difficult material to finish, so Rolex devised an innovative new manufacturing process to make fluted bezels in 950 platinum. It realizes the molding of fluting on a shining surface with a perfect shape.

The president bracelet is equipped with an elegant concealed crown clasp and a ceramic insert inside the link for added flexibility and durability. In addition, the concealed attachment system makes the connection between the bracelet and the case look cohesive.

The new Day-Date 40 model is equipped with the caliber 3255, which Rolex has developed and manufactured entirely in-house and has been used in the Day-Date collection since 2015.
