Harare: Former Zimbabwean captain Brendan Taylor has revealed that he will receive an ICC ban for match-fixing. The action was taken for delay in informing the ICC about the approach of the Indian bookmaker. Taylor revealed the shocking information on Twitter.

He approached Taylor to host a Twenty20 match in Zimbabwe in October 2019. The two used drugs during a meeting in India. The next day, a group of people broke into Taylor’s room and threatened to release a video of him using drugs if he did not show up for the spot-fixing. Taylor said he left India immediately with his family with the $ 15,000 they had given him the day before and informed the ICC four months later.

Taylor explained that he had never been ready for a match in his life and that it was too late to inform the ICC for fear of endangering the family.

Brendan Taylor has been described as one of Zimbabwe’s legendary cricketers. Taylor has led Zimbabwe in 71 matches. He retired last September after a 17-year career. Brendon Taylor, 35, has scored 2320 runs in 34 Tests, 6684 runs in 205 ODIs and 859 runs in 44 International T20s. He has scored 17 centuries in his international career. He made his debut at the age of 18 against Sri Lanka.
