French supercar manufacturer Bugatti has developed a special model, the F.K.P. Hommage, as a tribute to one of the most notable figures in modern automotive history – Ferdinand Piëch.
The Bugatti F.K.P. Hommage was created as the second exclusive project in the newly established customization department Programme solitaire, which the manufacturer founded last summer. Following the unique Brouillard coupe, based on the W16 Mistral roadster, Bugatti designers took on an even more ambitious task – to revive the spirit of the Veyron in a modern interpretation.
The letters F.K.P. in the model name are the initials of Ferdinand Karl Piëch. He was one of the main architects of the modern Volkswagen Group and initiated Bugatti’s merger with the group in 1998. The Veyron hypercar was the culmination of Piëch’s vision, and the new F.K.P. Hommage is created as a tribute to his ambitions and influence on the automotive industry.
Although the car visually resembles the Veyron, almost all body panels are fully new. The basis is again the Mistral roadster, but the design team, led by Frank Heyl, tried to imagine what the Veyron would be like if it were created today, using modern technologies and materials. The result is a more aggressive and technologically refined image with large air intakes, wide LED lighting and a deeper, more expressive radiator grille.
Details also refer to the Veyron heritage – the large wheels (20 inches at the front and 21 inches at the rear) are inspired by the original model’s rims, the centrally located exhaust pipe is visually more massive, and the two-tone paintwork recalls the classic Veyron style, only this time with an even deeper and richer finish provided by modern painting technologies.
The interior retains the Veyron’s characteristic layout, but the interior has been completely redesigned. Some components are borrowed from
Bugatti Achieved Record Sales in 2023, Delivering 40 Units
Bugatti delivered a record 40 vehicles to customers in 2023, marking the most units sold in a single year in the company’s history. This success follows a restructuring of the brand under the control of Rimac Group and signals a strong period of growth for the hypercar manufacturer.
Restructuring and Increased Production
In 2021, Bugatti was reorganized under the newly formed bugatti Rimac joint venture, with Rimac Group holding a 55% stake and Porsche (Volkswagen Group) owning the remaining 45%. This restructuring aimed to streamline operations and increase production capacity. Prior to 2023, Bugatti’s annual sales typically ranged between 7 and 15 vehicles. The increase to 40 units represents a considerable jump in output.
Key Models and Regional Demand
The delivered vehicles included examples of the Chiron, and also the limited-edition Mistral and Bolide models. North America accounted for the largest regional market, with 12 vehicles delivered.Europe followed with 10 units, while the Middle East received 8. Asia and other markets accounted for the remaining 10 vehicles.
According to a press release from Bugatti Rimac on January 25, 2026, the company expects continued growth in 2024 and beyond, driven by strong demand for its hypercars and the introduction of new models.Image of a Bugatti vehicle illustrates the brand’s continued appeal.
