Bull Hwang Hee-chan to England on the 9th… World Cup season preparations start

‘Bull’ Hee-chan Hwang (26, Wolverhampton) begins preparations for the ‘World Cup season’.

According to Hwang Hee-chan’s management company, BtheHC, on the 7th, Hwang Hee-chan will leave for London, England via Incheon International Airport on the 9th.

After completing his first season in the English Premier League (EPL), Hwang Hee-chan returned to Korea on May 24, played two matches in A-match, entered Nonsan Training Center, and spent three weeks receiving basic military training.

He was also responsible for the winning goal that led Korea to a 2-0 victory in the evaluation match against Chile just before enlistment.

After being discharged from the training center on the 30th of last month, he took a break for a week and continued personal training to make himself fit for soccer.

Upon arriving in London, Hwang Hee-chan immediately joins Wolverhampton pre-season training and starts a hectic schedule.

Wolverhampton will perform field training in Alicante, Spain, this month.

A friendly match will be played against Deportivo Alaves (Spain) on the 20th (local time), Besiktache (Turkey) on the 23rd, Sporting on the 30th, and Farence (or Portugal) on the 31st.

Next, on the 6th of next month, they will play an away match against Leeds United in the EPL opening game of the 2022-2023 season.

Hwang Hee-chan scored five goals in 30 regular league games last season.

Although there is no shortage of records in the debut season, it is not a number that will fill the greedy Hwang Hee-chan’s castle.

As the 2022 World Cup is scheduled to be held in Qatar in November, this season will be a more special challenge for Hwang Hee-chan.

An official from BTHC pointed out, “Hwang Hee-chan was originally scheduled to leave on the 10th, but decided that it would be better to return to the team as soon as possible, so the schedule was pulled.”
