Bundesliga-rated Lewandowski imminent transfer to Barcelona

Leaving Bayern Munich for a new challenge

‘Messi gap’ Barca, a stepping stone for another leap forward

German professional football Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski (34, photo) is imminent to transfer to Spanish prestigious FC Barcelona.

The BBC reported on the 17th that “Barcelona and Munich have reached an agreement in principle for the transfer of Lewandowski.” The previous day, ESPN, an American sports specialist, reported that “Lewandowski’s signing for Barcelona will be announced this weekend.” The Munich club have acknowledged that Lewandowski’s move to Barcelona is in an oral agreement, the BBC added, adding that the contract will be confirmed once Lewandowski passes medical tests.

Lewandowski, who has won the German Bundesliga for the past eight seasons, has expressed his intention to move to a new team with one year remaining on his contract.

Lewandowski, a Polish striker who has played for Munich since 2014, is a world-class striker named FIFA Player of the Year in 2020 and 2021. He has won the German Bundesliga top scorer seven times. He also scored a total of 50 goals last season, including 34 appearances and 35 goals in league matches. In the previous season, he scored 41 goals in the league, setting the record for most goals in a Bundesliga season.

Barcelona finished second behind rival Real Madrid in the 2021-2022 La Liga season. It had to be said that Lionel Messi (Paris Saint-Germain), who was a major player, had a huge vacancy, such as being eliminated from the UEFA Champions League group stage last season and being undefeated in both the Spanish King’s Cup and the Spanish Cup. However, by signing the best striker in Europe this time, they have laid the foundation for reclaiming the league supremacy for the first time in four years since the 2018-2019 season.
