Business trip and traveler ‘crack of lightning’… ‘All inbound travelers’ quarantined for 10 days from the 3rd

The government announced on the 2nd that all foreigners entering from abroad from the 3rd to the 16th of this month must self-isolate for 10 days regardless of whether they are vaccinated or not. This is due to the spread of a new mutation called ‘Omicron mutation’ in the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19). Those who went on a business trip or travel abroad in line with the gradual recovery of daily life are experiencing great confusion in the local area.

The Central Defense Countermeasures Headquarters (Bangdaebon) announced on the 2nd a measure to block the inflow of Omicron mutations into Korea.

According to the script, from 00:00 on the 3rd to 00:00 on the 17th, foreigners arriving from all countries must be quarantined for 10 days regardless of whether they are vaccinated or not.

First, Koreans and foreigners staying for a long period of time must isolate themselves at home. In addition, you must undergo a total of three PCR tests before and after entering the country (pre-PCR, the first day after entering the country, before the release of quarantine). Short-term foreigners must be quarantined in temporary living facilities.

In addition, from 00:00 on the 3rd, Nigeria was additionally designated as a ‘country with enhanced quarantine’, ‘a dangerous country’, and ‘a country exempted from quarantine’.

As a result, short-term foreigners entering from Nigeria will be restricted from entering the country. Koreans and foreigners staying for a long period of time must isolate for 10 days at a temporary living facility and undergo PCR testing a total of 4 times (before entry, on the 1st day after entry, on the 5th day after entry, before the quarantine is lifted).

From 00:00 on the 28th of last month, Bangdaebon has been taking such measures in South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia, Mozambique, Malawi, Zimbabwe, and Eswatini.

The government also decided to suspend direct flights three times a week between Ethiopia and Korea for the next two weeks from the 4th to the 17th.
