Don’t the citizens still have insufficient knowledge about vaccines. The ACCCIM Member Service Committee, the Hong Kong Chinese Enterprises Association, and medical and nursing integrity colleagues jointly organized an online seminar on “New Crown Vaccination Knowledge” on April 13. We invited Gao Yongwen, Lin Zhexuan, Wang Yuting and Dr. Fu Di, during the lecture, for example, how to take precautions for the elderly before and after vaccination, whether people who take traditional Chinese medicine for a long time are suitable for vaccination, whether mRNA vaccines will affect human DNA, whether people with high blood pressure can be vaccinated, and how long can they get pregnant after vaccination Wait for specific questions, and several doctors have answered them.
Dr. Fu Di first explained the characteristics and basic vaccination requirements of the two vaccines of Kexing and Fubitai. In short, Kexing and Fubitai used different technologies to develop. The former is an inactivated vaccine, and the latter belongs to mRNA. vaccine. Therefore, the two groups suitable for vaccination are different. Kexing is suitable for people aged 18 and above, while Fubitai has a wider range. In addition to adults, teenagers aged 16 and above are also suitable for vaccination.
Dr. Gao Yongwen urged everyone to actively get vaccinated. He said, “Vaccination is currently an important means for Hong Kong and the world to control the new crown virus.” Several doctors then patiently answered everyone’s questions about vaccination.
People with chronic illnesses take a wait-and-see attitude towards injections and take this opportunity to ask questions, such as “Is it possible to get a vaccine through Bo Tsai 10 years ago”, “Hypertension can’t be beaten?” According to Dr. Wang Yuting, for patients with chronic diseases such as high blood pressure and diabetes, as long as they take the medicine on time and are in a stable condition, both vaccines are suitable for relevant people to vaccinate.
In addition, some people questioned. Why does the Mainland recommend that people under 60 be vaccinated with Kexing vaccine, but Hong Kong gives priority to the elderly? Lin Zhexuan explained that the vaccination arrangements between the Mainland and Hong Kong are different because the epidemic situation in the Mainland is relatively mild, while the epidemic situation in Hong Kong is more severe. Therefore, it is necessary to arrange priority vaccination for different groups depending on the actual situation.
After listening to the lecture, Sebastian had answers to some of his doubts about vaccines. Just as Jin Ping, vice president of the Hong Kong Chinese Enterprises Association, and Huang Shixin, chairman of the Member Service Committee of the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong, mentioned that the new crown pneumonia epidemic that has lasted for more than a year has dealt a heavy blow to Hong Kong’s economy and people’s livelihood. New crown vaccination is currently the most direct and effective preventive method, but to truly achieve herd immunity, the vaccination rate needs to reach 70% or more. It is hoped that more corporate employees and citizens can actively participate in the SAR government vaccination plan to fight vaccines and protect themselves. People, Hong Kong’s economy and people’s livelihood may be reborn first.
