Canada bans entry of foreign tourists from 7 countries in South Africa

Canada has banned entry of foreign travelers who have visited seven countries in South Africa due to the emergence of a new mutation ‘Omicron’ in Corona 19.

Canada’s Health Minister said this through a briefing on the 26th local time, Bloomberg News reported.

The seven countries are South Africa, Mozambique, Botswana, Lesotho, Zimbabwe, Namibia and Eswatini.

“This measure is to promote the health and safety of Canadians,” the Health Minister said in a statement.

Canada also said that all Canadian nationals who have traveled to South Africa for two weeks must be tested for the coronavirus upon arrival and must be quarantined until they test negative.
