[オタワ ３日 ロイター] – Canadian Foreign Minister Jolie said on the sidelines of the meeting of the Group of 20 (G20) foreign ministers in New Delhi on Thursday that Canada would never tolerate any kind of interference in its internal affairs.
“Canada will never tolerate any form of interference by China in its democracy and internal affairs,” Jolie said in a statement.
“We will never accept any violation of Canada’s territorial integrity and sovereignty. We will never accept any violation of the Vienna Convention by Chinese diplomats within Canada.”
A parliamentary committee on Monday passed a resolution calling on the government to launch a formal investigation into allegations of interference in foreign elections. Chinese Foreign Minister Qin denied claims that China and others tried to interfere in the 2019 and 2021 general elections, calling it “absolutely false and nonsense.”
