In this case the role of captain should be taken entirely by another player. Virat Kohli is also stepping down from the leadership. Rishabh Pant and Jaspreet Bumra will be considered for the captaincy. It can be said that Rishabh himself tore the lot of the ball as he was among those who committed disciplinary offenses.
Jaspreet Bumra, who has more experience in international cricket than Rishabh Pant, who led the IPL team, is likely. No pace bowler has led the Indian team since Kapil Dev. Former Indian fast bowler Mohit Sharma has said that Jaspreet Bumra is the best captain.
