CAT bans passengers from 8 countries with “Omicron” mutated covids from entering Thailand.

EXAT issued an announcement Passengers traveling from 8 countries with “Omicron” mutated covids since Dec 1 are forbidden from entering Thailand. As for passengers traveling to Thailand from 28 November – 30 November 64, they must quarantine for 14 days.

On November 27, 2021, Mr. Saksiam Chidchob, Minister of Transport, revealed that he has now received a report from The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) has announced (NOTAM) to the world that Thailand has banned passengers arriving from eight African countries from December 1st from entering Thailand. This includes passengers connecting to Thailand. According to reports, there are no airlines from any country flying directly from Africa to Thailand.

However, it has ordered the agencies under the transport to prepare and issue measures to support the spread of the new coviral virus B.1.1.529 or Omicron in the transportation system.

Mr. Suthipong Kongpool, Director of the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT), said that he had signed the CAAT announcement to inform airlines around the world about Passengers traveling from Africa from eight countries including Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa and Zimbabwe to Thailand must comply with the conditions. to prevent the spread of mutant covid

For the conditions of practice include 1. If the passenger has arrived in Thailand From November 28 from 00:01 until November 30, ’21 11:59 PM, 14 days of quarantine will be required immediately regardless of the type of travel permitted.

2. From 1 December onwards, passengers from these 8 countries will be banned from entering Thailand. Even if it has been granted through the Thailand Pass system and all permissions will be expired from 1 December onwards.

3. Currently, the Thailand Pass system does not provide permission from those traveling from these countries.

for the rest of the African countries will be able to enter Thailand on the basis of permission granted until 14 December, and from 15 December onwards, if arriving, must undergo a 14 day quarantine process regardless of the type of permission obtained.

Therefore, the CATC asks all airlines to please consider it in the eyes of the case that Passengers are traveling from these 8 countries, although Thailand Pass may say they are registered from another country. Please inform passengers to follow the above measures as well.
