“Catalog” of JAXA Ryugu samples released | TBS NEWS

JAXA = Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency has released a catalog of Ryugu samples collected by the spacecraft “Hayabusa2” on the asteroid Ryugu to researchers around the world.

443 Ryugu samples were published on the website, totaling about 0.2 grams. By the classification work called curation, ▼ weight, ▼ collection location ▼ infrared spectroscopic data, etc., as well as ▼ high-definition image data are attached.

Early analysis suggests that Ryugu’s samples contain NH groups, hydroxyl groups (OH groups), CH groups, etc., and JAXA will use researchers around the world based on published catalogs. It means that we will accept requests from and provide samples.
