Thiruvananthapuram: Central approval for Thiruvananthapuram Outer Ring Road. The project will be implemented as part of the Bharat Mala Project. Public Works Minister Mohammad Riyaz said the development work would be expedited with the coming of the project. He said the state would bear 50 per cent of the cost of land acquisition.

The Outer Ring Road from Vizhinjam to Navaikkulam has been approved by the Center. The National Highways Authority has been directed by the Union Ministry of Surface Transport to make preparations for the commencement of the project. The minister said the move would expedite development activities in the state.

Minister Mohammad Riyaz said that the road development of 80 km from Vizhinjam Port to the Kollam border will be of great benefit to the Thiruvananthapuram district and the state.
