Koo Jae-yi, the chairman of the Korea Tax Association, met with Yoon Seok-man, the president of the Korea Tax Society, and other society officials on April 3, 2026. The meeting took place in the reception room on the third floor of the Korea Tax Association building to discuss cooperation in activating tax research.
Leadership and Background of Chairman Koo Jae-yi
Chairman Koo Jae-yi currently serves as the 34th chairman of the Korea Tax Association, having recently won a second term. His reelection occurred during the 63rd regular general meeting of the Korean Tax Society, which was held at COEX in Seoul.

Koo’s professional background includes previous service as a member of the National Tax Service and as the president of the Korea Tax Research Forum. He holds a Ph.D. In law from Korea University and has a background in business administration from Gachon University.
Beyond his role at the association, Koo has been involved in government advisory capacities. He was appointed as an advisor to the new government’s State Planning Committee and serves as a member of the Tax and Finance System Improvement Task Force. He is also associated with the Special Committee on Financial Reform and represents GoodTax, a tax corporation.
