Manchester City won the first leg of the Champions League semi-final with two appearances in two halves. City beat PSG 2–1 in the second half with two goals. A win over PSG’s stronghold Park de Princess will give City confidence in the second quarter.

Kevin de Bruyne and Riyadh Maher scored the goals. Defender Marquinhos headed in a goal for PSG in the first half. PSG midfielder Idrise Gay was sent off. Mauricio Pochettino’s team played with 10 men in the last 15 minutes.

Neymar’s first 45 minutes and City’s remaining moments in the game. Initially, PSG acquired Neymar’s beautiful moves. Neymar filled the pitch as youngster Killian Mbabane blushed in front of City defender Ruben Diaz. Every move shocked the City defense. Meanwhile, the goal came. Marquinhos put PSG ahead with a header from a corner hit by Angel Di Maria.

City’s engine was the midfield, which included De Bruyne, Maheris, Icai Gundovan and Bernardo Silva. As they filled the pitch in the second half, Pep Guardiola’s team began to dominate the game. Diaz and John Schotton were firm on defense. City cut the lead in the PSG midfield through Rodrigo. Neymar was isolated on the move. As Neymar faded, so did the flow of PSG.

In the 64th minute, De Bryan hit a cross into the box and went straight into the PSG net. PSG goalkeeper Kyler Navas, who did not move as he thought was harmless, was shocked when the ball went into the net.

Within seven minutes, Mahers’ left-footed free-kick pierced the PSG wall. Then Phil Foden got the chance. But Foden’s blow was straight into Nawaz’s hands. Gaye was shown a red card for a dangerous foul on Gundovan.
The final will be held on the 29th.
