Chanel price rises again… Classic bags all over 10 million won

French luxury brand Chanel raised the price of some products again on the 3rd.

This is the fourth increase this year alone, and in the case of the popular classic bag line, the price jumped over 1 million won overnight, all exceeding 10 million won.

According to the retail industry, the price of the small size of the Chanel Classic Bag on that day increased by 17.8% from 8.93 million won to 15.2 million won.

The medium size of the classic bag rose by 15% from 9.71 million won to 11.24 million won, and the large size from 14.9 million won to 12.1 million won, respectively.

The price of the classic bag line went up once in July, and it was raised again in 4 months.

At that time, the Classic Bag Small rose from 7.85 million won to 8.93 million won, the Medium from 8.64 million won to 9.71 million won, and the Large from 9.42 million won to 14.9 million won by 1 million won.

As rumors of Chanel price hikes spread through online communities related to luxury goods from last month, consumers flocked to major stores.

An official from Chanel Korea said that the price has been adjusted not only in Korea but also worldwide, and explained, “Like other major luxury brands, Chanel adjusts its price regularly in consideration of changes in production costs, raw material prices and exchange rate fluctuations.”

Previously, Chanel raised the prices of its major products in February, July, and September.
