Channel A approval rating survey Lee Jae-myung and Yoon Seok-yeol in an ultra-thin battle


In a poll on presidential candidate approval ratings, the polling results showed that Democratic Party candidate Lee Jae-myung outranked People’s Strength candidate Yoon Seok-yeol within the margin of error. Along with the approval rating, they are engaged in a close battle in the audience rating, which is a measure of the public’s interest.

As a result of a poll conducted by Research & Research on 1,008 adults nationwide from the 27th to the 29th of last month on the request of Channel A on the 1st, when asked which candidate they would vote for in the next presidential election, 35.5% answered that they would vote for Lee Jae-myung. 34.6% of the respondents answered that they were candidate Yoon Seok-yeol. The gap between the two candidates’ approval ratings is 0.9 percentage points, which is outside the margin of error (the sampling error is ±3.1 percentage points at the 95% confidence level).

People’s Party candidate Ahn Cheol-soo followed with 6.0 percent, Justice Party candidate Shim Sang-jung with 4.9 percent, and independent candidate Kim Dong-yeon with 1.6 percent.

Regarding the result, it is difficult to say that Lee has a definite advantage because it is a close match within the margin of error, but this is the first time that candidate Lee Jae-myung outperformed candidate Yoon Seok-yeol among various opinion polls conducted 100 days before the presidential election.

However, the two candidates also showed a close-knit relationship in terms of unfavorability. The unfavorable sensitivity of Candidate Lee was 51.4% and Candidate Yoon 51.3%, with a difference of 0.1%p. In terms of favorability, 39.8% for Lee and 36.8% for Yoon.

As for the number of viewers, 654,000 people watched the candidate Lee Jae-myung episode and 659,000 people watched the Yoon Seok-yeol episode.

Candidate Jae-myung Lee’s episode in Ulsan had the highest rating of 7.5% in the nation, and Seok-yeol Yoon’s episode in Daejeon had the highest rating in the country at 6.8%. In the metropolitan area, the ratings for the two candidates were the same at 2.8% each.
