Charleston's 101-year-old businessman goes off

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) – Kanawha County Commission issued a statement on the death of the 101-year-old Charlie Jones's business.

Commissioner Kent Carper said, “Charlie Jones was a fine man and his heritage does not have to be repeated. One of the things Charlie Jones was very proud of was his service on the Board of Yeager Airport. Kanawha County Commission gives him credit for saving the Airport frequently. He was a riverman, an entrepreneur, a great patriot and a great citizen. He qualified as West Virginian and Appointed Chairman of Kanawha. ”

Commissioner Ben Salango said, “I met Charlie Jones during my time as Commissioner and Charlie was an excellent community citizen who supported our Airport. He was a successful businessman who was respected by everyone. My thoughts are with his family at this time. ”
