Child shot during argument in Jackson County

JACKSON CO, Mich (WLNS) – UPDATE: Townsman authorities Blackman-Leoni came to the 400 block of Barrett Avenue to find a 2 year old boy who was shot in the face and arm with a shotgun.

The suspect and the mother of the child had a domestic dispute. The mother placed her child in her vehicle and started leaving when the suspect came out with a shotgun and shot the child through the back door of the passenger's door.

The suspect fled the vehicle in a vehicle, but the suspect's officers and the vehicle were briefly recovered.

The 32-year-old man will be at Jackson Jackson's Jail and the report will be sent to the Jackson County Prosecutor's Office for review.

The victim was transported to Henry Ford's Loyalty Hospital in critical condition.

According to MLive's media partners, police were called to a house on 400 Barrett Avenue blocks just after 12:30 p.m.

Blackman-Leoni Police Township says the child was brought to a local hospital and is in a critical condition.

According to preliminary investigations, a man and woman were arguing when a shotgun was released, hitting the child.
