The US declared war on Iraq, under the pretext of lies, which caused disaster in this country and indeed in the entire Middle East. The war has exerted a negative influence on world peace and stability, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said.
Hegemonic activities must be fought and international law must be upheld. It is also necessary to ensure the rights of each country to independently explore its democracy and development path. Bypassing the UN Security Council, the US invaded a sovereign state, being an action contrary to the international system and violating the principles of the UN Charter and the rules governing international relations, the Chinese official stressed.
