China caught the covid again; Badminton World Tour Finals moved from Guangzhou | BWF World Tour Finals moved from Guangzhou to Bangkok due to COVID-19

Beijing: The Badminton World Tour Finals scheduled to be held in the Chinese city of Guangzhou have been shifted to Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, following reports of Covid. This time the games will start a week earlier than previously decided in Guangzhou – from December 7 to 11.

Eight participants in each category are announced after the completion of the Australian Open. Currently only Malayalee players HS Prannoy and PV Sindhu have qualified from India. However, Sindhu has withdrawn as her left leg injury is yet to heal.

Sindhu won the World Tour Finals in 2018. Sindhu responded that she is withdrawing as the injury is becoming difficult and her goal is to return soon and win gold at the Paris Olympics.
