China responds to U.S. oil stockpiling proposal: “Release to meet our demand”

In response to the joint release of oil stockpiles proposed by the United States to stabilize international oil prices, China has announced that it will release the oil in view of its own country’s demand.

“China will arrange the release of oil stockpiles according to the actual situation and demand,” Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Zhao Lijian said at a regular briefing.

“We will take necessary measures to stabilize the market,” Zhao said.

“China is closely communicating with all sides, including oil producing and consuming countries,” Zhao said.
