A remarkable surge in the sales and profits of China’s automobile manufacturing industry has been observed from January to May this year, marking a positive trend for the sector.
According to the latest report by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), Chinese automakers recorded sales exceeding 3.63 trillion yuan (approximately 658.7361 trillion won) during the January-May period, experiencing a substantial 14.3% increase compared to the corresponding period last year.
This notable growth contributes to a significant 7.1% share in total sales of large-scale industrial enterprises, highlighting the influential position of the automobile manufacturing sector in China’s economy.
The profitability of Chinese automakers also witnessed an upswing during the initial five months of this year, with the industry’s profit reaching an impressive 174.62 billion yuan (about 31.6882 trillion won), registering a notable 24.3% surge compared to the same period last year.
These statistics signify a promising trajectory for the automobile manufacturing industry in China, as it continues to thrive amidst global economic challenges and stiff competition.

According to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), the sales of Chinese automakers in the January-May period exceeded 3.63 trillion yuan (won about 658.7361 trillion), up 14.3 percent from the same period last year.
This accounts for 7.1% of the total sales of large industrial enterprises.
During the first five months of this year, the profit of Chinese automakers reached 174.62 billion yuan (31.6882 trillion won), up 24.3% from the same period last year.
