At midnight on November 2, China’s leading female tennis star Peng Shuai (35 years old) was forced to have a sexual relationship with former Deputy Prime Minister Zhang Gaoli (75 years old). The problem I accused is that even after three weeks, the fire has not been extinguished. Mr. Zhang was the Central Commissioner (Top 7) of the Chinese Communist Party until October 2017, and was the Deputy Prime Minister until March 2018.

Initially, a spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs fled, saying, “This is not a diplomatic issue,” but global criticism of China continued to grow. Then, on the 18th, CGTN (China Global Television Network English Channel) posted on Twitter the text of an email that Mr. Peng sent to Steve Simon and others of WTA (World Women’s Tennis Association).

Then, on the 20th, the editor-in-chief of “Global Times” under the Chinese Communist Party Central Committee “People’s Daily” told Twitter that “Soon, he will appear in public and participate in the activity. On the same day, Chinese Communist Media (CGTN) international news editor and columnist Hu Xijin released a photo of Peng Shuai relaxing at home surrounded by stuffed animals on Twitter. Also, on the following day, 21st, a video of Peng Shuai attending the opening ceremony of a junior tennis tournament in Beijing and a video of enjoying dinner at a restaurant with tennis officials are uploaded on Twitter by Editor-in-Chief Hu and Mr. Shen. ..

Furthermore, on the 21st, IOC (International Olympic Committee) Chairman Thomas Bach announced that he had an online meeting with Peng Shuai for about 30 minutes. He also said he had promised to have a dinner in Beijing next January and released a photo of the interview. Something may still come out in the future, but as of the 24th of writing this manuscript, that’s all.

There is no problem until the end of the Beijing Olympics Paralympics Peng Shuai’s safety

For me, a Chinese watcher, what I’m paying close attention to right now is not the safety of Peng Shuai. Now that the international community has put “external pressure” on her and the Chinese side is eager to hold the Beijing Winter Olympics in February next year, there is no option to torture her or put her in jail.

Perhaps in January of next year, I will really have a dinner with IOC President Bach and publish the “smile scene” at that time to the world media. And it must be “Oh, she was really safe.”
