The national short track speed skater Choi Min-jeong asked Shim Seok-hee to stop contacting her.
On the 28th, Choi Min-jung’s management company All That Sports said, “Choi Min-jung is complaining of extreme stress due to Shim Seok-hee’s continuous attempts to apologize.
According to All That Sports, Shim Seok-hee has apologized to Choi Min-jung since the 8th. After sending a text message ahead of the first round of the ‘2021-22 ISU Short Track World Cup’, Choi Min-jung felt extremely stressed and could not concentrate on the game.
Recently, Shim Seok-hee was at the center of controversy after a text message she shared with a coach during the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics was revealed. In the text message, it was engulfed in suspicion of ‘intentional collision’ with texts that seemed to agree with the message ‘Let’s make Bradbury’, as well as demeaning and gossiping about Choi Min-jung and Kim A-rang, who ran together with the Taegeuk mark at the Olympics.
Shim Suk-hee collided with Choi Min-jeong in the women’s 1000m final at the Pyeongchang Olympics, and the two fell together. Shim Suk-hee strongly denies the allegation of an intentional collision. It is said that the text message was obtained from Shim Seok-hee’s cell phone forensic results by former short track team coach Cho Jae-beom, who is imprisoned for sexual assault.
Choi Min-jung requested the Korea Skating Federation to investigate the allegations of intentional collision. The Federation consisted of a 7-member investigation committee, and on the afternoon of the 27th, the first meeting of the investigation group was held in the conference room of the Federation.
Meanwhile, Choi Min-jung is receiving treatment for injuries to her knee and ankle during the first short track World Cup. Choi Min-jung, who returned home during the competition, is unable to compete in the second short track World Cup (Nagoya, Japan) due to an injury.
