Choi Min-sik and ‘Casino’ Honored at the 18th Seoul Drama Awards
Actor Choi Min-sik and his drama ‘Casino’ emerged victorious at the prestigious 18th Seoul Drama Awards.
The esteemed event took place at the KBS Hall in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul on the afternoon of the 21st, with the ceremony being broadcast live on KBS2.
Distinguished actor Choi Min-sik received the well-deserved Golden Bird Award in the international invitational category for his remarkable performance in the Disney+ original series ‘Casino’.
Graciously accepting the accolade, Choi Min-sik humbly remarked, “While this award is a great honor, it also serves as a reminder of the hardworking colleagues I had the privilege to collaborate with. I wholeheartedly dedicate this award to the staff of ‘Casino’, the talented director Kang Yun-seong, and all the actors who tirelessly dedicated themselves, braving intense heat and extensive workload.”
In addition to the individual recognition, ‘Casino’ secured yet another triumph as it clinched the Golden Bird Award for Best Picture. Director Kang Yun-seong expressed his elation, stating, “I am overjoyed by Choi Min-sik’s well-deserved win. It is truly remarkable to witness my esteemed colleague navigate through a challenging production period and receive such recognition.”
Director Kang Yun-seong further extended his gratitude, emphasizing, “We are immensely grateful for this prestigious award. We share this glory with the officials from Disney+, as well as the dedicated cast and crew who worked tirelessly, pouring their hearts into our production.”

The ’18th Seoul Drama Awards’ was held at the KBS Hall in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul on the afternoon of the 21st. The award ceremony was broadcast live on KBS2.
On this day, Choi Min-sik received the individual award of the Golden Bird Award in the category of international invitation for the Disney + original series ‘Casino’.
Choi Min-sik: “The award is nice, but it reminds me of the colleagues I worked hard with. I am happy to receive such an honorable award, but I would like to present this award to my colleagues. “I would like to give this honor to the staff of ‘Casino’, the director Kang Yun-seong, and all the actors who sacrificed themselves day and night to deal with the scorching heat and a lot of work,” he said.
The Golden Birds Award for Best Picture also went to ‘Casino’. Director Kang Yun-seong said, “I was delighted that Choi Min-sik won the award. “It is tremendous to think that my senior officer went through a difficult period while working on a project, but that he overcame it well and received that evaluation,” he said.
He continued, “Thank you for giving me such a great award. Likewise, we give all the glory to Disney + officials, actors and staff who worked hard on our work from start to finish. “
